Learn About Sunrise Children’s Center Programs and Curriculum
Sunrise Children’s Center programs offer a curriculum based on the developmental needs of children. We encourage active play for physical development, and everyone can play together in our seven fenced-in outdoor play areas. We’re a close-knit team, where children and staff look for ways to make a positive impact on our community. Our school culture promotes giving back to the community with a yearly donation to the local food pantry. Our students and staff have even hosted a fundraiser for two teachers battling cancer.
Infant program
Sunrise offers full and part-time care for infants ages six weeks to 12 months. Infants will learn through interactions with caring adults and other babies using appropriate toys and materials for learning and fun. Every infant gets his or her own crib. We are also a breastfeeding-friendly facility.
Toddler and preschool programs
At Sunrise, classrooms are set up and equipped with materials in learning centers so children have the freedom to explore their environment in an organized and supportive way. Keeping in mind the developmental stages of the children, teachers choose units of study based on the children’s areas of interest and develop activities around these units. Sunrise offers many opportunities for shared play and problem solving to support the development of important social skills.
Before and after-school program
The before and after-school program incorporates cooperative play, supportive homework time, outside play and art.
Summer program
Sunrise Children’s Center programs include summer programming for children age six weeks through age 10 (or 4th grade) from mid-June to mid-August. A full day of fun awaits your child—lots of outdoor play and opportunities for socialization with friends. We offer families the opportunity to design the schedule that works best for their summer needs. Registration for summer programs begins in May.
